Was that honestly the best take you had or was this guy on his way to commit suicide and didn’t have time for a few back up run throughs of the folksy delight that are OSH’s style these days?

I’m sorry, what? Are you high right now, sir? Because seriously, the only way you smell pine and watch for angels is if your huffing cleaning products.

And what would a holiday fantasy be without an inflatable Snoopy?

Check out this dude’s voice when he says, “Snoopy.” Even he can’t pull together one last ounce of enthusiasm for this blow up tackiness and that’s his job… to sound enthusiastic about crap we don’t need and can’t afford but buy any way because you’re in some sort of holiday pissing match with your neighbors.

And let’s not forget what this ad is really all about, the fact that OSH will “pick up your sales tax” this holiday season. I can remember hearing promotions like this since I was a kid and they always baffled me a little. I mean, are they really picking up the sales tax, or just discounting the price of the item down by whatever the sales tax really is in the neck of the woods?

It’s actually kinda brilliant if you think about it for a bit. I mean, I know we all like to bitch about paying sales tax, but percentage wise, it’s really not that much, even here in CA where we’re so backwards we have a republican governor that raises taxes (sorry, he takes the same taxes earlier… totally different). But what are we talking here, savings wise, 7-8%? But it’s that idea, that “sticking it to man” kind of bullshit that both sides of the house can get behind.

That’s right folks, fucking over the government… it just oozes Christmas spirit, doesn’t it?

Now I’m off to see if the angel thing works.
